Thank You For Another Sweet Blog Award...

I have been so busy lately that I have not had a chance to post a Thank You to Jenn at http://scrap-a-tude.blogspot.com/. That was so sweet of you to think of me and it really means alot to me that you picked me out of all of the amazing blogs out there. I do want to say that I am sorry for not posting this sooner so I hope that you did not take it personally where you felt that this award did not mean anything to me. It really does!! So thank you so much again!! You are just so sweet!

The rules of the award are to thank the person who gave it to you, tell 7 things about yourself, and then pass it on to 8 others.

7 Things About Me:

1.) Since my son joked about me being short I thought I would tell you how short I am.. I am 5'2..

2.) Coach is my favorite handbags in the whole entire world!

3.) I love my Ugg boots and wear them almost every day!

4.) When I was in high school I had to carry an "Egg Baby" for 1 week. Well my mom made it for me and it broke within the first few days so she had to perform "surgery" and cut open the panty hose body and replace the egg. I still have it and here is a picture of it... Boy is this old!!

My mom has ALWAYS been a very talented crafter. I should take pictures of some of the things she has made for me over the years and you would be blown away. When she made my Egg Baby soft sculpture dolls were just becoming poplular. I still love this little Egg Baby. I had the cutest one in the whole entire school!!

5.) I am a major people person and I love to give!

6.) I think I have told you all that on Nov. 20th 2002 I had to have a total joint replacement on both sides of my jaw, my tmj area. I have severe chronic pain and must take pain medications for the rest of my life.

7.) I mostly drink water but I love rootbeer!! Boy it is hard coming up with 7 random things about yourself..lol.

I want to pass this award on to these sweet blogs..

My Super Funny Interview That I Woke Up To Today...

So this morning I woke up to the funniest thing my kids have ever done to me. I woke up to this (look right above you) to my son Casey who is 12 years old who started interviewing me because I am "short" LOL. Listen to what he started saying to me during my interview. Oh, the blue cell phone was his tape recorder..LOL.. This was so funny that I could not stop laughing. This is what he said..

First he called me and he started out with Ok, so
 "Shorty Mc 40"
(Then he asked while pointing the cell phone in my face) "Are you Master Yoda's Mother, because your not as wise as him but you are as short as him so he must get his wiseness from his father", "Is Bella going to grow taller then you?" and then I stopped him because I had to grab pictures of him. He cracked me up so bad that I could not stop laughing.. Casey can be so super funny sometimes and some of the things that come out of Casey's and Hallie's mouths stun me. Where do they come up with such things?

The first picture is Casey hiding under my blankets because he was acting shy when I told him that I was posting this on Blogger..lol. Then he came around and I was able to take a picture of Casey pointing the cell phone at me while acting like he was interviewing me for being short..LOL.
Shorty Mc 40!! Pretty funny if I may say so myself!!  ~Terri

WOW And OMG... I Won Some Blog Candy... AMAZING!!!

Well I just checked my Two Pink Peas Facebook page and I got a message from Andrea of http://heartinthedetails.blogspot.com/ and she had sent me a message telling me that I won her Jar Full Of Sunshine Giveaway!! How exciting!! This is So weird because about 2 or 3 months ago I had won this exact same thing from another blog but did not get back to them in time and lost it so I can't believe that I won it again.

Thank you SO much Andrea and Heart In The Details for this amazing giveaway. I am really excited and cannot believe it!! If you get a chance please hop on over to her blog and become a follower. Her blog is amazing and has so many beautiful creations. As you can see that I am almost speechless and that almost never happens..lol. I almost always have something to say about everything..LOL. Like you couldn't tell... hehe!

Before I go I wanted to thank those of you who have said that you were going to send Salifu a card. I am just literally stunned by your kindness and how you have opened your heart to this very special little boy. If you decide that you are going to send something to Salifu make sure to leave your return address because I believe that you will receive a thank you letter from Salifu for your beautiful card. These cards are really going to make his day, his year!! Just him knowing that so many people care about him will mean so much. I have been asked what he likes. Well, he LOVES soccer and he wants to be a doctor when he grows up so those are a few ideas that you can use when making your cards. Also, I would absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it if you would email me your card or leave me a comment where I can copy it so I can post it on my blog so everyone can see your beautiful creations!! I just cannot thank you enough for doing this for him. I really do not think that he has ever received mail like this in his whole life, so this is a HUGE deal!!  Since it is after midnight it is officially Salifu's 11th birthday!! Happy 11th Birthday Salifu. We ALL love you to pieces!! ~Terri

P.S. I will try and see if I can find my pictures of him today and try to post them later on in the day. I might have packed them away but there might be a chance that they are somewhere in my bedroom. I am going to look and look and try to find them so you can see how beautiful this little boy is.

Hello To You All & A Request That Will Help Someone You Don't Know...

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I don't know about you all but this past weekend seemed to go by so fast for me. I got to relax a little which is always needed for me..lol. I can never relax to much.

Friday night our neighborhood had a chance to set out trash that they can not normally throw away during the week. I noticed these 2 women going through my neighbors trash and their van was jammed packed with stuff that they wanted to save. Personally I have never gone through other peoples trash but I offered to help put their extra stuff in my truck and follow them around and then deliver their stuff to their home. The lived about 10 minutes from me. These 2 amazing ladies were absolutely stunned that a perfect stranger would offer to help. Let me just add that it was pouring down rain... I mean we were soak and wet. I HATE to throw things away that others can use or that they need. I was literally STUNNED at the stuff that people threw away. I mean I found a Baby Juicy Couture hoodie that was perfect in every way. So I grabbed about 2 or 3 trash bags FILLED with designer baby and toddler clothes to donate to our local woman's domestic abuse shelter. Every year we ALWAYS give or donate to them. It amazes me how somebody could throw away such beautiful clothing that can be used by children whose mother's cannot buy for them. So tomorrow I get to drop that off and that was a good thing, plus it is better for our environment. From this day on I will go around each year and do this very same thing and donate what I find to shelters. What a shame and what a waste to throw such things away.

On to other news. Today I went to my counselor/life coach and I just have to say that I really adore her so much. She is so amazing. Today she gave me this poem and wants me to read it to myself each morning. I wanted to share it with you all. Although I am not very religious this is a poem to god and it is very beautiful and it goes like this..

Dear God,

Take my life and let me live serenely for today.
Open my mind to happy thoughts.
Take away my self-pity, I don't want it.
Take away my ill-will toward others.
Make it possible for me to feel joy, love and compassion.
Help me to accept what it, to hold my tongue, to do my daily tasks and to let go with love.
Take away my worry about the future.
Make me realize that in Your hands everything will be provided for, that I have no control over anything but myself.
Help me to remember that all the hatred and pain that are directed at me are the hatred and pain the other person is feeling toward himself/herself.
Thank you for your willingness to accept my burdens and lighten my load.

Amen!

There are alot of things in this poem that do not apply to me but it is a beautiful poem and I wanted to share it with you all. Maybe these words will touch someone's heart and help someone.

On another note, today I received a letter from Salifu from The Gambia. Remember he is my sponsored child and his birthday is tomorrow the 28th and he will turn 11 years old.  I had sent him $35.00 which turns in to $994.00. I really do not know how much money that is to them but I think it is alot. A little to us goes a looooooooong way to them!! He said that he is going to purchase shoes, clothes, juice, food and he is going to have a birthday party with his friends and neighbors. I love getting letters from Salifu and I know he LOVES getting letters in return 100 times more. I would like to ask you all a HUGE favor. You all are so special and talented and special to me. Are there any of you who would be willing to send Salifu a birthday card? It is ok that it will be late but just think how special Salifu will feel receiving alot of homemade cards from perfect strangers!! I am going  to put his address and contact information down and I would just appreciate it SO much if you could send him something heartfelt. Salifu will keep these cards for the rest of his life and it would mean so so much to him and his family. Here is his info...

Salifu Sanneh
102/013846/00175
Kabafita Family Helper Project
Christian Children's Fund
Private Mail Bag No. 2
Banjul, The Gambia

If you decide to send him a little card you have to put every part of this address on the envelope, otherwise it will not get to him. As you can see Salifu is VERY very important not just to me and my family but to so many others. I just know that in my heart he will be so surprised and excited to get so much attention and love from all of you. So thank you SO so much in advance for sending my sweet boy a happy birthday card.

I hope you all have a wonderful evening. Next week I will pick a winner for my giveaway. So that means you still have time to enter if you have not already. Thank you all so much for becoming new followers of Two Pink Peas and I will get to each and every one of your blogs and follow you too. It just might take a little time to get to all of you. This giveaway has literally blown me away with so many enteries and brand new followers. I mean to go from 50 something to over 200 followers.. WOW!! Amazing! I thank you from the bottom of my heart! Good luck and if you don't win, don't worry as I am currently working on another amazing giveaway. I wish I could give each and everyone of you this package and that is the only bad part about this giveaway.

Well, I did not mean to ramble on so long but thank you if you got this far..lol. Please consider sending Salifu a card and please leave me a comment if you decide to send him one. Much love and hugs to you ALL!! ~Terri

My First Project In Weeks Using The Forever Young Cartridge

Just recently I started seeing a counselor/life coach for various reasons. One being that I never properly grieved my dad's loss. But my last visit was this past Tuesday and I showed her a little picture book of Two Pink Peas and some of my projects featured in this little booklet. I got this book online for 100% free, no shipping or anything. It turned out really great. Anyhow, We were talking about my love of making paper crafts and photography and she saw a picture of this little purse in my book. It had different colors on it but it was the exact same paper and she LOVED it. Actually she wanted to buy one from me right then and there. I don't like to take money from others and I LOVE to give so I made this for her today and will give it to her tomorrow at my appointment. I chose the word Believe because I truly Believe that she can help me get past some things that have bothered me for a long time. Surely I think she is going to be shocked that I made one for her but she is just so amazing and I really like and trust her ALOT so this is the least that I can do for her. Anyhow, I wanted to share it with you all.

If you are wondering this purse came from the Forever Young Cartridge. I used my Gypsy so I could make it as big as my 12" x 12" paper would allow. That is one feature that I absolutely love using the Gypsy, that you can see where the machine is going to cut. I added little round velcro tabs for the closure and then I added a black button on top. The chipboard with the word Believe on it was put on with pop dots. Then I added a few pink gems and of course pink ribbon. I hope she likes it! She has NO idea that I made this for her!! I love to make others happy, I have always been like that since I was younger.

But let me tell you, it was a PAIN in the you know what to drag all of my supplies that have been packed up just to make this. Then I had to put it all away...lol. I really miss having my craft space all set up. I would be making things probably every single day if that were the case. My sweet husband offered to take one of our bedrooms and set up my Two Pink Peas Craft Room in there until we move. I just might take him up on that. I really miss creating with you all!!

Before I go I wanted to thank each and EVERY one of you who have become new followers of Two Pink Peas and that have entered in my giveaway. To be honest, I am shocked at just how many new followers that I have now. It is absolutely amazing. I wish that I could give each and every one of you this set that I am giving away but I promise that I am already working on another amazing giveaway that might even be a little bit bigger. Not 100% yet what it is going to be, but you will want to enter for SURE!! Also, I wanted to thank you all so much for your very sweet comments about my dad. I read each and every one of your comments and they all touch my heart. I feel very lucky to have found so many caring women like all of you. So thank you for following me, entering my giveaway and for leaving me the sweetest comments ever!! I am working on going to each and every one of your blogs so I can follow you back. It might take me some time to get to all of you but I will get there. If you are reading this and have not entered into my giveaway just scroll down and you will see it and this is one giveaway that you do not want to miss.

I hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow and I will talk to you all very soon!! ~Terri

Happy Birthday To My Dad...

Today June 20th is my dad's birthday. He passed away on January 5th 1994 at the age of 49 from cancer. There is not one single day that goes by that I do not think about him. He hid his cancer from me and the only reason I can think of why he did is because maybe he did not want me to see him sick. By the time he was in the hospital sick with cancer it was pretty much to late for me. So today on his birthday and yesterday on Father's Day have been pretty rough days for me. I would give anything for just 5 minutes to be with him. They say that those who passed that loved you in your life come to visit you in your dreams and I do have alot of dreams of my dad. It could also be because I miss him so much. If you are blessed enough to have your parents in your life try to take advantage of every second that you have with them because you never know when they will be gone and pass away.

When my dad was alive he used to say super funny things. He was a joker and was always smiling. He used to say funny things like "Never eat yellow snow!" and when I used to ask him for something he used to always say "Give Me, Lend Me, Loan Me, Do You Got, Can I Have" LOL. He would say it really fast. I understand how he felt because Casey and Hallie are always asking me for something almost on a daily basis. It makes me sad that he is not here to see my kids grow up.

These pictures above are pictures of my dad and I when I was a little girl. I treasure these pictures so much. My dad was a twin but I have lost touch with him because he moved out of the state. Maybe some day I will find him and reconnect with him. That would be so awesome! Thanks for letting me share my dad with you all.

On a different note, Earlier today I have tried many times to post this about my dad but I have been having major blogger problems. I also wanted to post my brand new giveaway but because of my blogger issues I could not do it. So right now I am working on and putting together a huge blog candy giveaway. Hopefully when I go to post it tomorrow I won't have any issues blogger wise. Have a wonderful night and I will talk to you tomorrow!! ~Terri

I Just Won A Blogger Award... So Sweet!!

Awww.. Stacy from http://lovethatbug.blogspot.com/ just gave me this sweet blog award. Thank you SO much Stacy.. you are just a super sweetheart and I am so glad that I met you and we are blogging buddies!!

The rules for the award are the following:
1) Send a thank you to the person who nominated you and include their link.
2) To accept this award, I had to answer 7 random facts about me.
3) Pass the award on to at least 8 other awesome blog buddies.
So here are 7 random facts about me...

1) I talk to my sweet Bella (my little yorkie-poo) like she is a little person! She understands everything I say.. it is so amazing! Since day 1 I have talked to her like that and I guess she just learned over time what I was talking about.
This picture was just taken while I took Bella outside to go potty. Isn't she so sweet? She is my furry best friend and I love her so much!!!

2) I am a super shop-a-holic..lol. Just ask my husband. :o)
I especially love to buy craft supplies. I don't drink, smoke or do drugs so I think being a shop-a-holic is just fine.. don't ya think?? LOL My husband does not agree..lol.. Men!! :o)

3) Since January 2006 I have sponsored a child and his family from The Gambia. His name is Salifu and he is amazing. We write letters back and forth and he sends me his report cards and other school work that he has done many times a year. I also send Salifu and his family LOTS of care packages and they love it. Salifu and his family has been the BIGGEST blessing to me. If you can do it I would highly recommend being a sponsor to a child who desperately needs help. I know that you will get more out of it then they do. The charity that I go through is http://www.childfund.org/ and it is simply AMAZING! If you ever decide to sponsor a child you will receive SO much in return that you would have never expected. When I first met Salifu he was only 5 years old and now he is almost 11 years old. His birthday is June 28th, so he will turn 11 in just a week or so. I cannot believe how much he has grown. One day my family will travel to The Gambia and visit him and his family. Salifu wants to be a doctor when he grows up and I know he will achieve his goal!

4) Photography is a passion of mine. It has always been. I once made a camera out of an oatmeal container and took pictures with it. Boy, that was along time ago.

5) I love to collect Invicta watches and Longaberger baskets.
I have too many Longaberger baskets to count. I have been to Dresden, Ohio where the headquarters is located many times. If you can go I would highly recommend that. I even got to make my own Longaberger basket and it is beautiful. I just took a picture to show you what it looks like. I made this back in 1996.

6) I don't like change. I like things to stay the same and that goes for everything in my life. This might be because when I was a young child my family moved so many times that I cannot count. So with us moving and building a new house it is a challenge for me.

7) I can eat the same foods every day for months. My dad was that way and I must have got that from him. When I was little he would ask my mom to make Tuna Noodle Casserole all the time. To this day she will not make it because she hates it that much..lol.

Now to pass this sweet blog award on to 8 other blogs...

Again, thank you so much Stacy for picking me for this really sweet award. You are just a sweetheart and I am so glad that you are my blogging friend!!

As always you all know how much I love comments so if you could leave me one showing me that you were here I would love that!! Off to play with Bella for a while. Talk to you all soon. ~Terri

P.S. I am getting together a HUUUUGE giveaway in honor of Father's Day. More information about that will come soon!

I Just Ordered My Peachy Keen Stamps That I Won...

So I just got an email with my gift certificate from Peachy Keen Stamps for the blog candy that I won from Heidi at http://gotscraps.blogspot.com I was not sure what set I was going to pick so I asked my 10 year old daughter Hallie to help me chose. After looking at each and every stamp set available Hallie wanted me to get this set which is called
PK-450 Wide Eyed Kids Face Assortment.

They are so adorable and I can see these little faces being used in so many ways. This was a shock for me today finding out that I won a gift certificate for PKS and it really made my day!!

Thanks again to Peachy Keen Stamps and to Heidi at http://gotscraps.blogspot.com/ for picking my name.
I really really appreciate it so much!!
I also wanted to thank my sweet little Hallie for helping me pick out which set to get.
Your the best Hallie Bleu and I love you to pieces!!
Thanks for helping mommy!

We are just getting over a terrible thunderstorm. We lost our power for a few minutes and our satellite went out many times during the storm. Bella started barking when she first heard the thunder...she did not know what it was..lol. She is to funny. For the past few days Bella has not been feeling very well. I think it all started when I took her to the vet and she got 2 vaccines, blood work and a few other things done. I know the blood work did not cause her to feel bad but the vaccines could have for sure. Yesterday she was sick to her tummy and shook alot of the day. Poor baby. But today is a new day and she is MUCH better. She is back to her normal self. Thank goodness.
I hate seeing her sick like that.
Well I hope everyone has a great rest of the night and I will talk to you all real soon!! ~Terri

OMG.. I Won A $25.00 Gift Certificate For Peachy Keen Stamps...

I just got an email from Peachy Keen Stamps telling me that I won a $25.00 gift certificate from Heidi at http://gotscraps.blogspot.com/ . The original winner did not respond in time so she had to pick a new winner and I won. I feel bad for the original winner. That happened to me once and it stinks. This really made my day!! Can't wait to pick out what set of stamps that I want. Any suggestions girls?? Just had to share!! But thank you Heidi at http://gotscraps.blogspot.com/ ~Terri

My Weeks Craft Haul...

Hi guys!! Since I have been so busy lately, I have not had a chance to post my latest haul on here so I wanted to do that now before I forget..my memory stinks a lot of the time..lol. As you can see I got TONS of Stampin' Up Stamps sets (which I LOVE as all of you do too!), I got tons of paper, and let me tell you that I did not need not one more sheet of paper...you should see my  paper stash. It is crazy how much I actually have. But I love paper so much and when I find cute paper I have to get it..lol. But 2 days ago I got my 2 Peachy Keen Stamps sets that I won via blog candy from Ruthie's blog at www.septemberninth.blogspot.com. Thank you again Ruthie.. I LOVE these stamps. They are soooo adorable!!

These 5 stacks of paper I got at a store called Tuesday Morning. A few months ago I never shopped there before because I really did not know what kind of stuff they had in the store. So one day I went in there and boy do I love this store. They have great deals on everything especially scrapbooking/card making supplies. These papers or cardstock rather are really adorable. The company that makes them is called "Paperage". Each stack has 60 sheets of cardstock in them and they were only $5.99 each. I wish you could see how utterly adorable these stacks are. The colors are so vibrant and the designs are so sweet. My 1st  stack is called Cocoa Blooms and it is mostly flowers, stripes and a few other designs. My 2nd stack is called Raspberry Cordial, the 3rd stack is called Cupcakes & Cherries, the 4th is called Sweet Shoppe and the last stack is called Social Butterfly. I think the Social Butterfly might be my favorite. Then a few days later I got 2 36 sheet stacks made by K & Company. Both stacks are called Color Basics Radiant. I also got 2 mat pads with 18 sheets each again from K & Company.  There is no name on these mat stacks. They match perfectly with the
2 12" x 12" stacks from K & Company.

Lately I have been collecting Provo Craft Clear Impressions Acrylic Stamp sets. I usually get most of my Stampin' Up and other brand name stamps off of Ebay.  It is amazing the crazy deals I get from Ebay. The 1st pack of Provo Craft stamps is sayings and the 2nd set as you can see is vines and leaves. If you have never tried or heard of these stamps from Provo Craft let me tell you that they are really great quality stamps. Before I got my 1st set I thought that they were acrylic cling stamps that  had to be mounted with a acrylic block but I was wrong. Each stamp comes mounted on a acrylic clear block already which is nice. Of course they are more bulky to store but it's worth it.  I now have 3 sets from Provo Craft and will be looking for more to collect. I got these 2 sets off of Ebay and for a great low price. If you want to try and find these on Ebay just type in Provo Craft Clear Impressions Stamps in the search box and if there are some available they will come up. They seem to be way more expensive then Stampin' Up stamps for some reason. But some times you can get them for way cheaper. It depends on the seller.

As you can see these pictures are close up pictures of all the stamp sets I got off of Ebay. What you don't see is a package of Glass Pearls that you can make bracelets with. I am going to use them on some of my cards. These pearls look SO real and I love the colors in this package. There are probably over 150 pearls in this pack. Then I got about 10 packs of .99 cent paper packs from Target. Every time I go to Target I always look to see what new packages they have and if I don't have them I will get all of the ones that I don't have. Oh, and I also got 1 12" x 12" 50 sheet stack from Colorbok and I got that from Walmart for $5.00. Once again, I did not need anymore paper but I really loved the colors in this stack. Well, after looking at my haul I think that is basically it. My most favorite place to buy my supplies besides Joanns and Michaels is Ebay. I get some pretty remarkable deals on Ebay. There have been so many times that I have won items on Ebay like 4 Stampin' Up sets for only $2.00 and I feel so guilty and bad for the seller. When that happens I will email the seller and give them the chance to relist the item in hopes that they will get more money in a new auction. I have never had a seller take me up on that offer but I just feel so bad for them. We all know how expensive stamps are especially Stampin' Up stamps.  On the last picture (right above) you can see 2 dog wood mounted stamps. I got those at Marcs and get this.. they were 5 stamps for .99 cents. They only had these 2 left as they were all gone. I have never bought stamps cheaper then that before. What a great deal. So if you have a Marcs near you make sure to check often as you never know what they have day to day. I almost forgot, I got a Martha Stewart glitter stamp starter set for only $3.50. It came with 7 pieces, 3 glitter containers, a glue stamp pad, a full sheet of stamps and an acrylic block. Even though I have enough glitter to cover the entire outside of my house it was a great deal and I had to get it. I think I covered most everything. It's alot, that's for sure but I love it!

Well, it is after 5 am and I have to get up early because I have a doctors appointment tomorrow so I need to try and get some sleep. Thanks for letting me share my newest haul with you.
I hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow!! ~Terri

Two Pink Peas Tuesday's Tool Of The Week...

Before I get into this weeks
Two Pink Peas Tuesday's Tool Of The Week
I wanted to apologize for not posting lately. I have been having major problems with Blogger and I think I finally got it resolved. So today I am going to post a few post today to try and catch up. One post being the winner of the Cricut Cartridge and 12 packs of Peel N Stick Ribbon.
Thanks for hanging in there with me.

To start off I am going to go to this weeks tool that I chose. This is called The Silhouette and it is like the Cricut except that you hook this machine up to your computer like you would a printer. Unlike the Cricut where you have to purchase cartridges to cut out the design that you want, with the Silhouette you can purchase individual images that are available in the thousands. Also, you can use all of the fonts that are on your computer and cut those out. Those fonts are all free to cut. I have heard alot of good things about this Silhouette machine and am thinking about trying it once we get settled into our new house. If you are interested in getting more information about the Silhouette just go to http://www.silhouetteamerica.com and you will find all of the information and where to purchase. Some of the other things you can do with this machine is make temporary tattoos, obviously you can make cards and scrapbook pages, custom apparel, vinyl decor, sketch designs and etched glass.  So it is alot like the Cricut but I have read that this Silhouette cuts things out like butter and makes much smoother and cleaner cuts.

I am sure that most of you have heard of the Pazzle machine. This is another option as this machine does not use cartridges. This is what the Pazzle website says about this machine...

The Inspiration Creative Cutter® connects to your computer, similar to a printer, but instead of printing the Inspiration uses a small blade to cut your designs you have created, downloaded, or purchased. Imagine cutting any shape, font, or design in an amazing variety of sizes with the click of a button. The Inspiration® is capable of cutting more than just paper and cardstock though; from stencil plastic to chipboard, fabric to rubber stamp material, the Inspiration offers amazing flexibility and power. You can even draw, engrave, emboss, distress, and pierce with your Inspiration® using our added tools.

The Inspiration is a powerful system designed to help make your creative time fast, easy, and fun. The Inspiration® can grow and flex with you, so it never becomes outdated. The freedom to use your own fonts and design your own images means that every project you do can reflect your style.
So if you are looking for something to add to your Cricut or a different machine that you can purchase that can do what the Cricut does you can take a look at the Pazzle or the Silhouette. Here is a picture of the Pazzle...

For more information about the Pazzle go to http://pazzles.com/ and you will find all of the information about this machine. My mother in law owns this machine and she loves it. She uses it almost every single day and really loves it.

I hope these 2 picks for Two Pink Peas Tuesday's Tool Of The Week has given you something different to look at. More posts to come today. Thanks for visiting Two Pink Peas! Have a fabulous day everyone!! ~Terri

Happy 3rd Birthday To My Sweet Sweet Bella....

Today is my sweet baby Bella's 3rd birthday!! I can't believe that she is 3 aleady. It feels like I just got her yesterday. Bella has been the biggest blessing to me and I love her SO so much. I am posting a few pictures that were taken just yesterday while we were at the model of the house that we are building and we took Bella with us. Bella LOVED this new house. She was running around and checking everything out. It was so cute to see her.

This is the bathtub that will be in our master bedroom and when Bella walked into the bathroom she jumped right into the tub all by herself. But then she could not get back out..lol. Obviously I had to take pictures of her because she looked so cute.

Before we went to see the model Bella had to go to the vet for a check up. She had to get 2 shots, blood work and a few other things. After we were done at the vets we wanted to stop back at the model because we are changing ALOT of this house to make it what we want it to be. I think we have finally got every single detail just right and things are moving along just perfectly. Now we just have to start building!

Before I go I wanted to tell Bella (even though I know she cannot read this..lol) just how much I love her!!  I hope that I have given her 3 amazing, fun and happy years because she has given that back to me 100 times more and she really deserves it. Bella has given me more then I could have ever asked for. Bella is amazing loyal to me, is always by my side, is always so happy to see me, she never gets mad at me and has always given me unconditional love. Bella would never betray me and don't ya just love that?????
Bella has been the most amazing gift that I have ever received (besides my children) and I wish I could do more for her to let her know how much she means to me. Trust me when I say that Bella is MORE then spoiled!!
So happy happy birthday my sweet Bella! I love you more then life itself! Have a wonderful day everyone!! ~Terri

An Interview With Kim Score at PaperPunchAddiction.Com That You Will Not Want To Miss...

Yesterday I was on a card making website that had absolutely stunned me. It had absolutely amazing punch art and I was just so intrigued about how it was done. So I emailed Kim Score of www.paperpunchaddiction.com  and asked her if she would be willing to do an interview for Two Pink Peas. She agreed right away and I was really excited. I think that when you see her work you will be amazed at how creative, innovative and just how smart she is. To be able to take regular punches and create these amazing works of art is a true gift!! Trust me when I say that you will definitely learn something new (if you are not new to paper piecing art) after reading this interview, seeing her art and visiting her website!! I know I sure did!

Here is the interview between myself and Kim Score of www.paperpunchaddiction.com.
First I want to say thank you for taking the time to join us here at Two Pink Peas and for sharing the love of card making and paper crafting. Would you please take a moment to introduce yourself and tell us a little bit about your blog?
I live in a small town in Northwestern Wisconsin and have been a "cheese head" my whole life and don't particularly enjoy the cold winters!  I am happily married with one beautiful 4 year old daughter.  I work full time in finance/accounting (which is totally uncreative!) and fill my spare time with all things creative.   I am a former Stampin' Up! demonstrator and craft show artisan, but now spend my time paper crafting, blogging and sharing online.  My blog was born out of the desire to share my love for paper piecing.  Since I didn't particularly enjoy hand cutting my pieces and hated to haul my cricut out of the closet, my brand of paper piecing with Stampin' Up! punches was born. My blog started in September 2009 and it's been a whirlwind ever since!

1.) Can you tell me about how you started using punches to make your cards? Were you this creative as a child or was it something that you picked up later on in life?

Going all the way back into my early childhood, I've always loved making things.  My interest was in fabric and at age 7, I was hand sewing all of my own barbie clothes.  I also loved to do latch hood rugs, cross stitching, crochet and then in my teens and early 20's, I got into making handmade teddy bears and dolls.  My mom and I used to sell at several craft shows around Wisconsin but the crafting business has changed so much over the years that it became apparent that we could not make money for all of the time we put into it.  I was actually at a craft show selling my teddy bears when I met a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  Having never stamped before (but considered it), I signed up right on the spot!  I was a demonstrator for 10 years and gave it up when it stopped being fun and became work.  I've been paper crafting for about 12 years now and haven't seriously sewn since then!
My interest in punch art started after my daughter was born.  I had never seriously scrapbooked and when I started, I was online looking for scrapbook ideas.  This is when I discovered paper piecing.  I was blown away!  I loved the look of the dimensional pieces and they really made my pages special.  I was a member of Splitcoast Stampers and was all of a sudden seeing simple punch art popping up in the member gallery.  I thought "why can't I create paper piecing with my large collection of Stampin' Up! punches?" and that is how my style of punch art was born!

2.) Out of all of the tools available, what drew you to use punches the most?

It was the most useful tool for creating shapes, which is what paper piecing is all about.  It helped that Stampin' Up! had a great array of punches and keep adding to it every year!
3.) It literally blows my mind that you can take so many different shapes from your punches and put them together like you do. How do you do that? I wish my mind worked like that..lol. It's quite amazing to be honest!

I tend to look at everyday things and try to visualize them in simple shapes.  If you can break down an object into simple shapes, then it's much easier to create with punches.
4.) I really love your style. Where do you find your inspiration since you come up with so many creative ways to use your punches?

Photographs and clipart are always a great inspiration.  l like to visit free clipart sites and look at objects, animals, people and try to visualize those things in simple shapes. Then, I sit down and make a sketch of the object using Stampin' Up! punch shapes. The final "character" comes to the piecings when I add the details like the sponging, shading, popped pieces and faces.

5.) Do you use a Cricut at all or do you primarily just use your punches?

Before I got into punch art, I actually used my Cricut for all of my scrapbooking.  I purchased a software called SureCutsAlot that worked with the cricut to cut out any true type font and svg file.  I purchased paper piecing files online, converted them to svg and my cricut machine cut the pieces for me.  Unfortunately, Provocraft got sue happy and recently barred this little company from supporting their machine with it's software.  I still have it (and use it) but I've recently joined the Boycott Provocraft facebook page because I don't like big bully companies  telling me how to use the machine that I bought!
6.) How many punches do you own? What is your favorite punch out of your collection? What punch do you find that you use the most?

ALL of the Stampin' Up! punches (retired and current).  My favorite punch is the Ornament Punch but lately I've been using the Boho Blossoms the most.
7.) Besides punches what is your favorite tool to use when you create your cards?
I LOVE embossing and die cutting.  So, next to my punches, my Sizzix Big Shot, embossing folders and Nestabilities get a lot of use.  I also can't live without my Peachy Keen face stamps!  They really add a lot of character to my punch art.
8.) How long have you been using punches to make your cards and other crafts?
I starting creating punch art in September 2009.  Before then, I used punches sparingly.

9.) I noticed that you offer many different tutorials. They are offered at great prices..how often do you make new ones?

It all depends on the time of year and how much spare time I have.  I always have a list of ideas but seems I never have enough time to work on them!  On average, it takes me about 30 hours to create a class that includes 5 different patterns.   A lot of time goes into designing a piecing and then taking step by step photos, editing photos, writing up tutorials and placing it online.  I usually put my punch art pieces on a finished project with instructions as well.  Full cards, scrapbook pages, non card gift items and cool card techniques usually accompany my punch art.  I want everyone to feel like they get excellent value in their purchase!
10.) Has your style changed over the years and can you explain your transition?
I have always been a "clean" kind of paper artist.  I prefer simpler designs with a wow factor.  This is why I love punch art.  I can let the punch art be the star with a simpler card background.  My style has changed in that I used to use my stamps a lot more to create my own backgrounds and now I find that I just don't have the time to do that.  I now prefer to use a lot of designer papers and embossing folders for that special flair.  I've always been a ribbon and glitter junkie and I've recently gotten into more bling (like pearls and rhinestones).  Although I love to look at collage and mixed media cards, it has never been my own personal style.  I like projects that are less busy and more eye catching.  Sometimes the simplest cards can be the most attractive.
11.) What is your focus when making your cards? When do you find is the best time to be creative?
I usually go into a project with a goal or theme in mind.  It's rare that I sit down "just to play". It's usually because I have a design team assignment or project that is due and there is a specified theme to go along with it.  Since I only have time to work on my stuff late at night, that is when I'm most creative.  Unfortunately, this means that I don't get a whole lot of sleep!
12.) Your cards shows interest in color and texture, are there any specific or different colors and textures that you are experimenting with right now?

I love embossed backgrounds and prefer textured card stock over smooth.  I've found that textured card stock always adds way more character and "realism" to punch art.  There is more depth in textured paper and to me, it has always looked more elegant and rich looking.  Lately, my favorite technique is the inlaid look.  You simply punch pieces (like flowers), glue them to cardstock and then emboss the whole thing.  I LOVE the Stampin' Up! square lattice embossing folder for this technique. Lately, I've been combining bright and soft colors together.  My favorite color combos of the moment is Pear Pizzazz, Pink Pirouette, So Saffron and Baja Breeze.  I also love Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip and Crumb Cake.
13.) Are there any other crafters that use your style of card making that excite you right now?

I love the styles of Mary Fish http://www.stampinpretty.com/
There are so many others I could mention but it would take me all day!
14.) Are you working with anything different that you have not shown us that you will reveal in the future?

I love paper engineering so I'm always looking to create new action card techniques. You can expect to see some more of these in the near future.
15.) What inspires new styles and designs?
Trends in products really steer my style a lot.  When certain techniques, embellishments and products are big on the scene, I find that I use them more often.  It's funny that trends change on a cyclical basis.  Back when I was a kid, the old vintage floral look was big.  It fell out of favor and now all of a sudden, it's big again!    I don't particularly care for that fad but I do love plaid, stripes, polka dots and tiny floral prints.  Lets make that a new fad!
16.) Tell me about your craft room and how you organize your supplies. Do you have any tips on organizing that you can share with us?
Unfortunately, I lost my craft room after my daughter was born!  I have a small home and no room to spare.   Right now, my work area is a small corner in my bedroom with a drop open computer desk, a small portable table and a large cabinet.  So, I'm the worst person to give organizational advice!  But, I look forward to getting a larger house within the next 5 years and having my own craft room!

17.) What things do you know now that you wish you had known when you first started paper crafting?

I didn't need everything!  I just HAD to have all of the cool new products, tools, stamps, etc. that came out with every new Stampin' Up! catalog.  Now, I have boxes of stuff I never used and will probably never use.  I wish that someone told me to stop being a collector and start using what I had!
18.) For someone who is just starting out with punches, what tools or items do you recommend should be a must have?
All of the Stampin' Up! punches are a worthy investment.  Since I use them all, it's hard for me to recommend just a handful.  In addition to punches, I highly recommend Peachy Keen face stamps, sponge daubers and ink pads (for sponging edges of paper), Unibal white gel pen (to add highlights to eyes), Staz on black pad for stamping faces and a small stipple brush for adding blush to cheeks.
19.) What is your most favorite technique?
Punch art, of course!
20.) I noticed on your blog that you are a design team member for several different blogs or companies. What does blogging mean to you and how has it enhanced your creativity?
I have met so many wonderful people through blogging and working on design teams!  I think that working on teams gives me the motivation to get something done.  I work best with deadlines and commitments and find that the more things I create, the more I WANT to create.  I know it sounds strange, but once you find yourself making things on a regular basis, you find that you spend every waking moment thinking about the next project.  It's addictive!
21.) How long does it usually take to make one character for a card?
It depends on how tired I am, if I have a theme in mind and if there is a due date! Sometimes, I can whip out a new character in a few minutes but sometimes it can take me hours to complete a card!

Kim has given me 2 links for FREE tutorials..how amazing is that? The free tutorials can be found at ..her Pixie Fairy free tutorial is here: http://www.paperpunchaddiction.com/2011/02/pixie-fairy-tutorial.html  and the Happy Monster free tutorial is here: http://www.paperpunchaddiction.com/2010/09/halloween-punch-art-blog-hop.html  So take advantage of those and enjoy!
I just want to thank Kim Score again for taking the time to do this interview and for sharing her love of paper crafting with us. I hope you all enjoyed this interview and will visit Kim's website. I hope this inspired you to look at your tools in a different way because that is exactly what this has done for me. I would love to hear any comments that you all may have about this interview and this type of paper crafting. Have a great day everyone!! ~Terri
